What was the inspiration for yo necesito?

The inspiration for” Yo necesito “ was wanting to be a more diverse artist, as well as to show some love & homage to the Afro Latino community , as a child my dad would play these rhythms and beautiful sounds through his entertainment  system in the morning and It’s always stuck with me.

What does the song mean to you? Que necesitas?

The song to me means having a need for another person , as we all become something more than we once were before by ourselves.

How do you want people to feel when they listen to yo necesito?

I want people to feel fun , free & frisky it’s a very sultry song , but it has a wonderful movement to it that I want you to dance & vibe to when you’re cooking , or in those moments alone at home on your own personal stage.

The music video is beautiful, which makes me think about your creative process. What is your creative process when writing new music and creating visuals?

Firstly, thank you for finding the video so pleasing to the eye & as far as my creative process , it tends to stem from playing around with some notes on the piano , sometimes humming a melody that I’ll record and try to rearrange when I can , or sometimes I just start singing what I feel and build around that concept. As for video creation I try and recreate what I see when I hear the words in my head & then expand upon that.

Lately, there has been lots of social distancing and even times of isolation. Have the last 5 or 6 months helped or hindered your creative process? Has it inspired any new music?

This pandemic has surely turned a lot up side down however I found that initially it did weigh me down , it was stunting my creativity but then one day, one lovely morning I just couldn’t take being stagnate anymore and decided to start creating again for myself and personal sanity.

Live shows and performances may be on hold for now due to covid-19. Do you have any plans to perform virtually? How do you stay connected with music lovers and your fans?

I’ve done a couple of online shows thus far , however I’d like to incorporate more in the future as I feel it’s opened a different dialogue for what can be considered a concert , which to me means being more accessible to the fans .As for engaging fans I have a few social media platforms where I can keep them updated and interact regularly.

Although MOLWR is a label with no musical boundaries, please describe your music and style in 3 sentences or more.

I’d have to say if I were to describe my music , it would be like describing myself , it’s a gumbo of a few things a lot of soul because I’m an emotional person and the way I relate is empathic if I can’t feel it , it’s not worth doing , I’d also say a few tablespoons of  R&B because that’s mainly what I grew up on and resonated with , it’s something about the movement and authenticity that you can’t deny & A dash of pop & a pinch of rock.

What are you most excited about for the future?

As for the future I’d have to say I’m most excited about the unknown , I’m curious to see what new sounds we’ll create , what new songs will I write & just how this story we call life will unfold.
